Landfill Site 2

In 2018, the landfill was completed on the site. Environmental pollution in the surrounding area was minimized through thorough follow-up management, including landfill cover surface, leachate, landfill gas, and separation section management.
We are discussing plans to use Landfill Site 2, where the landfill is finished, and looking at various possibilities, including establishing sports facilities, such as a swimming pool, cultural facilities, and new/renewable energy facilities.

Landfill Site 3-1

A landfill gas collection facility is installed in the 3-1 landfill to prevent the spread of landfill gas in the atmosphere by collecting landfill gas, which causes odor in the landfill. It also contributes to carbon neutrality by supplying collected landfill gas as fuel for 50MW power generation facilities in the Seoul metropolitan area.

Resource Circulation Town

It is a complex of waste-to-resources facilities to manage the facilities efficiently in one place.
Sludge recycling facility, and metropolitan food waste effluent-to-biogas facility are in the town. It converts waste into resources and energy to create sustainable values for the future.
We are turning 30% (as of 2022) of the waste brought to the metropolitan landfill into resources and energy, such as by producing solid fuel from sewage sludge and biogas in the process of food wastewater treatment.

Integrated Weighbridge

Waste vehicles first pass through this facility to enter the Sudokwon Landfill Site. The facility identifies the types, origins, and amount of received waste in real-time.
It automatically recognizes waste vehicles and samples waste for inspection and analysis to prevent illegal waste from coming to the landfill site.

64 cities, gun, and gu in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, etc.

Leachate Treatment Facility

As a facility capable of treating 6,700 m³ of leachate per day, it is integratedly treating leachate from a landfill, food wastewater, and wastewater from the resource circulating energy town.
The water is biologically treated (stage 1 : anaerobic digestion tank, stage 2 : denitrification/nitrification tank), and then pollutants not degraded are chemically treated (stage 1: chemical coagulation tank, stage 2 : oxidation coagulation tank).

Construction expense : 66,800,000,000 won

29 items including BOD, COD, and nitrogen

LFG Power Plant

The 50 MW power plant is a facility that generates electricity by using landfill gas (methane content 45-50%) as fuel, which is generated when waste is decomposed inside the landfill. We are creating revenue from power generation through the facility while also blocking odors by collecting landfill gas and reducing green house gases to contribute to carbon neutrality.

Dream Park CC

It is a 36-hole public golf course built on Landfill Site 1 buried with 65 million tons of waste for about nine years (1992-2000).

It hosted the 2014 Incheon AG Golf Games, 2016 KLPGA Games, 2017·2019 KPGA Games, 2018·2019·2022 PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament, etc. It has been loved as a resting place for local residents as well.

Wildflower Garden

The SLC and local residents built the Wildflower Garden in an area that used to be a coal briquette ash yard.
It is a beloved walking and resting place. In the garden, colorful flowerbeds are considered photographic attractions.
Sculptures made of trees damaged by the typhoon and a long tunnel made of vines attract attention.
Every spring, cherry blossoms in full bloom are spectacular. The Metasequoia Road, which leads to the Wildflower Garden, is a popular shooting location for TV series, movies, and TV commercials.
The SLC employs local residents every year to manage the Wildflower Garden, contributing to job creation, environment improvement, and the residents’ income increase.
